Long hand with a go(l)d ring
power steering a green Cadillac
past the flatlands of Texas
supper cold & flies vulturing
Jack Kennedy half dollar
head of a prodigal son served
on a silver bullet
supper cold & kids pretending
sleep the sign of a lazy
man versus man’s desire
I have cut too many deals
flown toward the mother moon
knowing exactly where I’ll land
tomorrow
breakfast warm & kids cheering
signing the cross at every turn
green Cadillac entering the mouth
of a carwash to suck up dirt
like an open mouth buried in desert
I have lived this day before
Jesus saved me
when I died
my instruction begins
strut into rooms with megawatt smile
await the knowing glance
I am ready for everything
to win above all w/ lucky coin:
Kennedy’s head in my pocket.
